PROMPTAPALOOZA – Characters that tell something about me

How This Works (Straight from the Aggronaut)

Since I apparently have a knack for over complicating things, the way this is going to work has changed a little bit after some discussion with the Blaugust community as a whole. Here is an attempt at a straight forward rundown of how the process is going to go, and here is also hoping that we manage to pull this off without someone getting confused along the way.

  • On the date specified above, a given content creator is going to share a prompt with the community.
    • The content of the post is in theory going to address that specific prompt.
    • Content creators have been assigned a prompt, but also have been given leverage to swap these out as they see fit.
      • Side note: Prompt bearers, please let me know if you plan on swapping topics so I can keep the master list updated. Any topics that are getting swapped out are listed down below as “spares”.
  • Near the bottom of a days post, the content creator will share the name and site link for the next content creator in sequence. This will lead the community to where they can find the next days prompt.
  • Everyone “playing along at home” should receive thirty one days worth of fresh prompts to pick and choose which ones they wish to create content based on.
  • The process should also shine the light on the various prompt bearers sites and hopefully drive traffic to them for participating.
  • When a prompt based topic is shared, please use the Hashtag #Blaugust2020 in order to increase visibility and allow folks to find them easily.

Share Characters That Tell Us Something About You

(This is a prompt from Tessa from PrincessInACastle)

This may be a hard blog to write, and not because I don’t have any characters to show, but more to the fact that I have too many characters I feel I align with and it won’t fit on this blog post. While some of these characters I’m about to present has had plenty of people cancel me for just liking them as a child, they still represent the wild and fiery soul that resides in this vessel I currently inhabit this lifetime.

As a child these characters resonated with my spirit, and they still do even as an adult and they’ll more than likely keep representing an idea of my character til the day I die. Yes, the blog is a but a mask that is objectionable and you can’t really have a conversation with me in person. However, this prompt has made me think about what I want people to know about me, or make a guess about what kind of person I happen to be. So without further ado, let’s bring out some characters that represent the faucets of me.

-ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅Claire Fraser⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎ

This feisty and passionate woman rounds the front of characters that tell something about me, like Claire, I am a nurse, and have a love of botany. While the time frame she was a nurse was set back into the World War era, having blood on your hands, running, and trying to save a life is not something new to me. It’s second nature. There are times Claire is hotheaded and she is a fighter like no other, and that is a quality I share especially if I am certain that someone is twisting what I say to fit their narrative of me.

I am not afraid to protect the people I love, and I’m not afraid to fight even when the odds are stacked against me. I would call Claire a ‘war horse’ as she’s seen so much and yet, she is still soft at heart but knows when to be a bad ass and prepare for war. Also, her devotion to her husband, and the love she has for her family is incredible–Also her openness about sex and desire is also something I applaud.

-ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅Princess Merida of Dunbroch⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎ

When Brave first came out, I watched it in theaters with my family and held my mom tight. As a young child, my mother and I were close but when I started getting older into my chaotic teenage years… My mother and I didn’t see eye to eye, and that brought about a lot of fights and both of us not listening to one another. Merida’s independence and wanting to fight against the fate that her mother was trying to have her pursue resonated with me on a whole new level.

In the end of everything, Merida and her mother reconcile and find even ground for not just Merida, but for everyone involved in the movies plot. This Disney princess is unlike any I’ve encountered, and she didn’t need the assistance of a prince charming to find her happy ending. The bigger latter of the movie was about family, love, and creating your destiny to rise up to your fate.

-ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅Selina Kyle⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎ

Selina Kyle is definitely an odd ball into my blog of characters that I feel tell something about me, I’ve always been fascinated by her character and have been told I act like her at times. I wouldn’t say I’m a villain and neither am I a hero, I do as I please and do what benefits myself and others. Catwoman represents that part of me, as you never really know whose side she is on, but what we do know is that she does what she does because it benefits her motives.

I know Batman doesn’t agree with all the things she happens to do, and she’s fine with it, since she’s never wanted to be titled a hero or savior. However, one thing is for certain, she can kick ass, defend what she cares for and isn’t afraid to play dirty.

-ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅San from Princess Mononoke⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎ

One of the most influential movies to ever have been allowed for me to watch as a child, is Princess Mononoke, and I was never the same after watching this. MY parents had thought because it was a cartoon that their was no violence and such, but that was wrong, ahahaha! However, the movie brings in a strong protagonist who isn’t afraid to be cutthroat and act on her own instincts. San, being raised by wolves, has no real relationship with the human race and hates them.

Her trust issues towards them stems from well deserved issues that we do see commonly today, the destruction of forests, dumping into our oceans, this movie resonates spirituality and much more. San colored my world with her view of seeing things from the spirits and animals perspectives, and it also allowed me to understand that there are always two sides to the story. This movie is a master piece, but San definitely stole the show.

-ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎ

A long time ago, well not too long ago, when I was still in my early twenties, I did the one thing I never thought I would do. Travel out on my own, and build myself from the ground up, on my own. My inspiration for that, was Kiki, from Kiki’s delivery service, while I wasn’t as young as she was I felt this inclination that part of my life was still unlearned because I didn’t experience knowing what it was like to be on my own. I will tell you one thing, I faced the exact same thing’s she did, moving to a small town that you had no one but yourself to rely on.

Finding work, and learning to figure out if you could budget pancakes into your groceries for the month was pretty hard. The only thing, I was missing my furbaby while I was doing this, but the experience of learning to stand on your own and realize your capabilities was amazing. It still grounds me to this day at having experienced what I did.

When Kiki left her family, friends, and small village to travel to a new place and strike out on her own for her witch training. It was a big leap, and coming back a failure was not on her task list, the hardships she faced while coming into learning about who she is and just how much strength she had, is amazing. For a fourteen year old, she leveled out fairly quick, and most of all, she did what she set out to do. Soar.

-ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅Message from Gray⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎ

As we wrap up this blog post, I wanted to give a big shout out again to the crew of Promptapalooza, and to our fearless leader, Belghast. This will actually be my last post for about two weeks as I am planning to take a well deserved blogging break to catch up on reading, gaming, and spending more time with my family. This adventure has been wild and more than that, I’m grateful to have been able to post every day until now, in any case, this isn’t good bye, it’s more ‘see you later~!’

Once again, thanks for stopping by at my corner of the blogosphere, and see you on the gaming side (in two weeks!)~!
